New Motherwell youth development director Scott Leitch received a warm welcome when he visited the club’s elite youth academy last week.
The academy is based at Braidhurst, which is also home to SFA School of Football and Performance School initiatives.
On hand to greet the former ‘Well captain and assistant manager, who took over from Gordon Young following his move to Sheffield United, were Braidhurst rector Derrick Hannan, Paul Burns, the Head of Children at the club, and some of the many pro-youth players from Motherwell who attend the various football programmes based at the school.
Mr Hannamn said: “In welcoming Scott to his new post I feel very confident that the relationship between the local authority, school and club will continue to grow.
“The talent in the school is outstanding with Braidhurst High being a Scottish FA School of Football and also Scottish FA Performance School of Football bringing some 40 talented players to the school each year.
“With the superb facilities we have at the school, the club are in a great position to benefit and have already managed to secure the services of many potential first team players for the future.
“Everyone at the school wishes Scott and his staff all the best for the future.”
