Thorniewood face a tough test when they take on title chasers Beith in a Super League First Division fixture at Robertson Park on Saturday.

The Ayrshire side are unbeaten in the league this season, having won nine of their 11 games so far as they seek a quickfire return following last season’s relegation.

But Thorniewood, whose game with Ashfield last weekend was called off, will hope to find the form they showed against Beith in September when a last minute own goal gave Beith a 4-3 win.

Bellshill Athletic returned to pole position in the Central League First Division on Saturday when victory over Lanark allowed them to leapfrog previous leaders Carluke, whose game was postponed.

Bellshill are two points clear of Carluke with three games in hand and will aim to take another step towards promotion with victory at Cambuslang Rangers.

The sides have already met this season, Bellshill winning 2-1 at Fullarton Park in September. Saturday’s games both kick-off at 1.45pm.
