Bellshill will travel to play two-time winners Bonnyrigg Rose in the fourth round of the Scottish Junior Cup following last night’s draw.
Robert Downs’s side made it through to the last 32 of the competition and will face the East Region cracks - Scottish Cup winners in 1966 and 1978 - on Saturday, January 17.
However Thorniewood were unable to join them in the fourth round after going down 3-1 at home to Broughty Athletic in their postponed third round match at Robertson Park on Saturday.
The Viewpark side return to league duty this weekend and couldn’t have a tougher task as they take on Glasgow giants Pollok at Robertson Park.
While Thorniewood currently prop up the Super League First Dvision table with just five points from nine games, Pollok are 10 points clear at the top of the table as they seek to regain top flight status following last season’s relegation.
The sides have already met this season, Pollok winning 3-0 at Newlandsfield in a West of Scotland Cup first round tie in October.
Central Division 1 table toppers Bellshill continue their push for promotion when they face St Anthony’s at Fullarton Park.
Athletic have lost just once in 10 league games this season and did the double over the Ants last season, although they did crash to a 4-0 defeat when the sides met in a Central League Cup tie.
Both Saturday’s game kick-off at 1.45pm.
