Bellshill Athletic will make history when they open their Scottish Junior Cup campaign later this month.
Sunday’s second round draw handed them a trip north to Grantown for what will be the Highland side’s first ever Scottish Junior Cup tie. Both sides received a bye in the first round.
Grantown were only formed in 2007 and played in Invernesss local leagues before being admitted to the junior ranks for the first time this season.
Bellshill boss Robert Downs is looking forward to taking on the junior new boys who currently sit fourth in the North Region First Division (West) table.
He said: “It’s a tough draw away from home against a new side.
“I would expect a hard game considering the travel and also Grantown will be be highly motivated to do well.
“In saying that my players are all looking forward to the trip and we will do our best to get into the next round.”
Thorniewood also received a bye in the first round and have been handed a home tie against East Region side Kirrie Thistle.
The ties will be played on October 25.
The Viewpark side travel to Ardeer Thistle on Saturday, still looking for their first Super League First Division League win.
Bellshill are also away, to Ashfield, in the Central League First Division.
Both games start at 2pm.
