The Dalziel Dragons mini rugby team members have had a busy start to the season.
This included travelling to Stirling to play Stirling County and Falkirk.
There were mixed results from P1 to P7 but with the sun shining and several players making their debut it was a
fantastic day out for all involved.
The P4 players made the transition from touch rugby to contact and the players relished their first opportunity to tackle like the big boys!
Several players, coaches and parents made the trip to Murrayfield to enjoy the World Cup warm-up match between Scotland and Italy. With Scotland winning by a record 48-7 the Dragons were in try scoring heaven!
The following week involved a short journey to Hamilton for the eagerly anticipated local derby.
There were some promising results for Dalziel including two wins followed by a narrow loss for the P5 squad, which included a convincing 9-1 victory.
The P7s kept their cool and worked hard to recover from 3-1 down to record a 4-a-piece draw.
This season the P5-P7 players have started additional fitness training on Thursday nights and the benefits of this are already showing.
