Holytown bowler Caroline Brown took a major step towards Commonwealth Games selection by striking gold twice at last weekend’s Four Nations event.
Caroline won both singles and triples at the event at Kelvingrove in Glasgow, the same venue which will be used for the bowling events at next summer’s games.
The competition marked the start of the selection process for Glasgow 2014 and Caroline, who was competing for event overall winners Team Kelvin, said she was pleased with her performance.
She said: “I feel very good about the start I’ve made to the selection process. We know about the selection criteria but when you are on the greens you just try and drop it to the back of your mind, concentrate on that game you are playing at the moment.”
