Motherwell flyweight Iain Butcher has signed a three-year deal with one of Britian’s top promoters.
After completing the agreement with Frank Maloney Promotions, Butcher’s manager Paul Graham said: “Iain has had a great start to his career, but now with Frank on side, I am sure that it won’t be long before Scotland has it’s next world flyweight champion joining the salubrious roll of honour alongside Benny Lynch, Walter McGowan, Pat Clinton and Paul Weir.”
Maloney was delighted to bring Butcher on board and has already booked his fourth professional fight which takes place in Liverpool next month.
Meanwhile, Motherwell fighter Paul ‘Charlie’ King has won his first fight since moving to Australia last year.
Lightweight King stopped Ben Dyer, who normally fights at middleweight, in the fourth round at Doomben racecourse on Sunday afternoon.
