Motherwell boxer Iain Butcher took just 67 seconds to dispose of Hungarian Richard Voros at Wishaw Sports Centre on Friday night.
It was set to be the Keir Hardie ABC fighter’s first bout over six three-minute rounds, but he had Voros down moments after the opening bell and followed up by knocking him out.
Flyweight Butcher had some reservations about giving up size to featherweight Varos, but is now calling on a British fighter to give him a proper challenge - even if it means going up the weights again.
Fellow Keir Hardie man Steven Banks was also dominant in a comfortable 60-55 points win over Londoner Duncan Cottier.
The light-middleweight controlled Cottier with his jab before mixing up some nice combinations as the fight progressed.
However, the two-minute rounds ended all too soon, preventing an early finish to the contest.
We hear from both fighters in February 29 edition of Times & Speaker
