Braidhurst boys earn call up for national training camp in Malta

FOUR young players from SFA School of Football based in Braidhurst High have been selected to be part of this year’s North Lanarkshire Council select spending their Easter holidays in Malta.

The boys will spend two weeks training twice each day as well as coaching local youth players and will also combine their studies for their forthcoming SQA examinations and play four matches whilst on the island. The trip also includes various educational trips.

They will work under the watchful eye of SFA coaches Andy Smith and Steve Hamilton as well as Motherwell FC Head of Children’s Programme Paul Burns, who is based in the school.

Former Motherwell and Celtic manager David Hay will also visit the party whilst in Malta.

The boys included are Scott Burns, who plays with Falkirk FC, Jai Quitongo and Ryan Clark, who play with Hamilton, and Ryan Clark, who plays with Motherwell.
