BRAIDHURST High School’s under-13 football team are champions of Scotland.

The ‘Braidy Boys’ lifted the Scottish Shield last Tuesday night when they defeated Craigmount High, from Edinburgh, 3-1 in the final, played at the ground of East of Scotland League side Spartans.

It was virtually a home game for the Edinburgh side who are coached by one of the Spartans co-managers and included several Spartans youngsters.

But an excellent travelling support had made its way along the M8 and watched in delight as goals from Jakie Hastie and Darren Wilson (2) secured the trophy.
