ParalympicsGB have selected Jim Sellar for the wheelchair curling squad to compete in Vancouver, Canada, and he hopes to win a medal after missing out four years ago in Turin.

The sport is governed by the same World Curling Federation rules as normal curling, with one modification – no sweeping is permitted.

Jim, who is also a champion bowler, took up the sport nine years ago and has gone on to represent Scotland at five world championships, including the gold medal-winning team in 2004 and the bronze medal-winning team in 2007.

This is his first Paralympics and he will retire from competitive sport should he be successful in Vancouver.

Jim (53) said: "I wasn't selected for the team who went to Turin and they won silver medals, so I'm hopeful we can go one better this time. This is the result of a lot of hard work and training."
