AN investigation has been launched after a blaze caused over £20,000 worth of damage at a Motherwell yard.

Police believe the fire at ABR Roofing on Merry Street on Saturday evening was started deliberately and have launched an investigation.

Emergency services rushed to the premises around 8pm, finding a cherry picker and a lorry well alight. The vehicles were totally destroyed as a result of the blaze.
