Winter plans under way to keep roads clear

PLANS are already under way in a bid to prevent severe weather disruption on North Lanarkshire’s roads this winter.

Staff at Amey’s Tannochside depot have started planning its winter service strategy to help keep trunk roads and motorways moving.

Following last year’s extreme winter, Amey - Transport Scotland’s operating company for south west Scotland - has introduced a number of innovations as well as increased resources and manpower to help keep roads open and ice-free.
