LOCALS are being urged to get involved in the final round of voting to help a Motherwell cafe win a National Lottery award.

Windmills Cafe, which works with young people wih learning disabilities from across Lanarkshire, is up for the UK’s Best Education Project at the awards and it needs your votes to win the gong.

Margery McBain, from Windmills Cafe, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have made it to the final of The National Lottery Awards.

“It’s great to have the opportunity to show everyone who has ever played the Lottery the real difference their money has made to our project.

“We hope that the local community will now vote for us to win so that the young people, our staff, volunteers and everyone involved in the project receive the recognition they deserve.”

The one winner in each category will receive national recognition at a star-studded event later this year, broadcast on BBC One, as well as a £2,000 cash prize to spend on their project.

Voting ends at noon on Monday, September 26, and public can vote for the Windmills Cafe by calling 0844 836 9688 or going online to www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards.
