STAFF and pupils at Braidhurst High are gearing up for a special year as the Motherwell school prepares to celebrate its 50th birthday.
The school is holding a series of special events throughout this session to mark the occasion, kicking off with ‘An Evening With Tam Cowan’ which will take place in the school hall on Monday, September 19.
Former pupil and school captain Tam, now a media football pundit, will entertain the audience and chair a question and answer session with a panel of well known football personalities.
Tickets costing £5, including a pie and Bovril at the interval, are available from the school with all proceeds going to St Andrew’s Hospice.
Rector Derrick Hannan said: “This is a really exciting year for the school with several special events planned.
“Former pupils can make contact with the school and we will keep them in touch with details of the events.”
