Scottish Water engineers have restored supplies homes in Bellshill who had been without water for over 24 hours.
A burst in a nine inch main at Bogs Brae yesterday affected normal supplies to about 160 properties, mainly on higher ground.
Supplies were restored for a short period last night (Tuesday) due to a reduction in the draw, or reduced pressure on the network, but were affected again this morning when there was greater demand on the network.
Scottish Water restored normal supplies to most affected properties this morning after isolating the burst section of the main before carrying out a repair.
A spokesman for Scottish Water said: “We restored normal supplies to most of the affected properties as quickly as we could.
“A small number of properties have not yet had their normal supply restored and we are liaising with them about the possibility of providing an alternative supply until the burst is repaired.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
