PRIDE OF PLACE: Uddingston's spring clean takes place on Saturday.

Uddingston residents are being asked to turn out in force this Saturday to take part in the annual spring clean of the village, organised by Uddingston Pride.

The Litter Action and Pick-up Day will take place between 10am and noon and anyone wishing to take part should meet at Park Church hall at 10amwhen they will be allocated an area to be cleaned. Pickers, gloves and refuse sacks will be provided, and at the end, tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available.

A number of voucher prizes will be handed out during the break.

Uddingston Pride’s Alex Stephen urged: “With the Commonwealth Games not so far away we need to show how nice a place the village is, and that we take pride in making it a clean, tidy and better place to enjoy living in. Children can come along with their parents, grandparents and friends for a fun time with a benefit to all.”
