Motherwell and Cleland stations are among those to benefit as ScotRail spends £160,000 of Scottish Government funds in upgrading facilities at eight stations across North Lanarkshire.

Motherwell will receive a new ticket on departure machine which allows customers to purchase tickets online and collect them at the station prior to their departure.

Meanwhile, a new on-platform passenger shelter will be installed at Cleland station as part of the enhancement works.

ScotRail managing director Steve Montgomery said: “These new station facilities will help ensure that the service we deliver is of the highest standard.”
