Train bosses are offering some consolation to long-suffering passengers at Motherwell station.
Figures issued last month showed more than half of services arriving in Motherwell were late.
Politicians have been calling on the Scotish Government to improve the country’s rail network.
Now ScotRail and WH Smith have announced a £1 million investment which will see ToGo Coffee Houses and WH Smith kiosks set up at ten stations, including Motherwell.
ScotRail’s Jacqueline Taggart said: “It’s great to see new retail outlets at so many stations. There’s a fantastic range of products for all.
“The new outlets also mean customers at these stations will receive complimentary refreshments during times of severe disruption.”
