A MAN who conned music-lovers out of £1,650 through an online ticket scam has dodged a jail sentence.

Andrew Ross (26), of Woodlands Road, Motherwell, was instead given a 12-month supervision order at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

Sheriff Shiona Waldron ordered him to attend addiction counselling and do 150 hours of unpaid work.

Ross must also pay back the money to his victims who all live England. He admitted three charges of fraud, committed between April and July last year.

The court heard he was paid the cash after advertising concert tickets online. The tickets never materialised and Ross failed to provide refunds.
