Oscar winning director Kevin Macdonald’s Life in a Day is an idea borne out of a unique partnership between Ridley Scott’s Scott Free UK and YouTube.
The movie, released at The Vue in Hamilton tomorrow (Friday), is a user-generated feature film, shot on a single day - July 24, 2010 - that enlisted the global community to capture a moment of their lives on camera.
The world responded by submitting more than 80,000 videos to YouTube, representing over 4,500 hours of deeply personal, powerful films from contributors from Australia to Zambia.
Life in a Day brings together compelling YouTube footage into a 90-minute film, crafted by Macdonald, executive producer Ridley Scott, producer Liza Marshall and their team, to offer a unique experience that shows, in beautiful, humorous and joyful honesty, what it’s like to be alive on earth today.
Twenty-five per cent of the price of each ticket sold will be donated to charity, for details visit www.easyfundraising.org.uk.
