A FUN day organised to encourage people to swim has raised over £500 for a leading children’s charity.
The event was organised by Motherwell man James Dunsmore who, as a British Gas employee, wanted to do something to promote the company’s partnership with British Swimming encouraging more people to take part in the sport.
The fun day was held at the Sir Matt Busby Sports Centre in Bellshill and other activities on offer included a seven-a-side football tournament, face painting, bouncy castle and beat the goalie.
A total of £560 was raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation with James and his colleagues raising more money through other initiatives to bring the total to around £900.
