MOTHERWELL College students joined up with their counterparts at Cumbernauld College for an afternoon of music recently.
The event was hosted at Cornerstone House in Cumbernauld and saw HND music performance students from Motherwell College meet with those studying the HND in sound production and TV production at Cumbernauld.
The acoustic / rock session took its inspiration from Jool Holland’s eponymous BBC show and featured more than 50 students from both colleges as merger plans are finalised.
Alan Moffat, music lecturer at Cumbernauld College said: “The joint event was a fantastic example of the collaborative approach to learning which is being undertaken by both colleges.
“Both colleges offer different types of music courses and it’s great to see Cumbernauld College students assisting those from Motherwell College and vice-versa.”
Scott Cowie, music lecturer from Motherwell College, added: “As the merger continues it is great to see the two colleges working so closely together already.
“This project has involved students from several courses as well as those who work on the radio station, bringing all parts of the event together successfully.”
.Student Vicky Paxton (20) from Motherwell College’s HND Music Performance course said: “The event went really well and there was a great atmosphere.
“I really enjoyed working with the students from Cumbernauld and hope to do so again in the future.”
