NEWARTHILL charity Reeltime Music held its first annual Young Person of the Year awards at the recent agm.

Motherwell College student Reagin Lowdon, from New Stevenston, was named outstanding young person of the year and Cumbernauld College student Susan Kerr, from Chapelhall, was awarded volunteer of the year.

The winners were nominated by staff members at Reeltime and both girls were selected due to their reliability, their determination and their exceptional service.

Reeltime marketing and evaluation officer Carol McEntegart said: “Reagin has shown real strength and determination over the last couple of years and I have been lucky enough to witness first hand her developing confidence and spirit.”

The award winners were presented with a framed award by Reeltime board member Ian Anderson.

The agm itself provided the invitees and members with information on the activities of the organisation.
