THIS year’s Christmas Present Appeal received two massive boosts this week.
We’re backing the campaign, led by The Salvation Army, and our generous readers have certainly taken up the challenge of ensuring everyone in their local communities has something to smile about on the big day.
The appeal aims to distribute gifts to babies, children and teenagers from families in need, as well as older people who may otherwise not have anything to unwrap on Christmas morning.
Kind-hearted pupils at Clyde Valley High School leapt into action after reading about the appeal in the Times & Speaker.
Students set about organising a sponsored silence, and beat their target five-fold to raise £506.
