Skipping club kids in top shape at British Masters

MEMBERS of a skipping club based in Motherwell are jumping for joy afer collecting 19 medals at the the British Masters Jump Rope Tournament held in Henley, Oxfordshire.

Jumping Jacks Skipping Club meets at Braidhurst Sports Barn and held fundraising events to pay for the trip to the big event.

Results - under-11s freestyle, Tammy Smith, gold, Lauren Hendry, bronze. 30-sec speed - Tammy Smith, gold, Alexandra Healy, silver, Hayley Carr, bronze. 30-sec double under - Tammy Smith, gold, Alexandra Healy, bronze.

Alexandra Healy took bronze overall and Tammy Smith took gold overall, making her Jumping Jacks’ first ever under-11s British champion.

In the 12 to 14 category freestyle the results were - Caitlin Watson, gold, Amy McNaughton, silver. 30-sec speed - Caitlin Watson and Amy McNaughton, gold, Anna Reid, bronze. 30-sec double under - Caitlin Watson, gold, Amy McNaughton, silver, Anna Reid, bronze.

Amy McNaughton took silver overall and Caitlin Watson won gold overall, making her Jumping Jacks’ first ever 12 to 14s British champion.

Head coach Tracy Bannatyne thanks all who helped raise £1,485 towards the trip by donating prizes for a race night and jump rope demonstration.
