Rosepark findings under discussion

THE findings of the Fatal Accident Inquiry into the fire at a Viewpark care home will be discussed in a seminar held by Strathclyde Fire and Rescue (SFR) tomorrow (Thursday).

The event will be attended by high-ranking delegates from across the UK fire and rescue service and will allow SFR to share its experiences of the fire at Rosepark Care Home in 2004 and its aftermath with these key stakeholders, and to establish best practice in this area.

The seminar, which will be held at the SFR’s Hamilton headquarters, will mark the launch of ‘Rosepark Care Home – an examination of the facts’, a 40-page document that seeks to address the issues raised in the Fatal Accident Inquiry and to ensure that the lessons learned from this tragedy are applied across the UK fire service.

Lewis Ramsay, SFR’s director of community safety and assistant chief officer, will lead the seminar,
