BIRD lovers have put up a reward of £1,000 in a bid to catch the thugs who poisoned two peregrine falcons in Motherwell.

The birds of prey were killed by the banned substance strychnine two months ago and the hunt for those responsible has so far been unsuccessful.

Two members of the public were so shocked by what happened they have now offered the £1,000 reward.
