The RAD Hotel Group, owners of Shawlands Park, have announced a partnership with the charity Cash For Kids Scotland.

Cash for Kids supports children aged 0-18 who are disabled, disadvantaged or suffering from abuse or neglect.

RAD managing director Robert Kyle said: “I met with the charity manager Lynne Bennett to discuss a Cash For Kids event being held in one of our hotels and was struck by the positive impact that the charity makes to the lives of children living within the UK.

“We wanted to be actively involved and raise money to help their cause, which is why we have set up the charity partnership and are committed to raising £10,000 over the next 13 months.”

The first fund raising event, RAD Around The World, kicked off at Shawlands Park last week, which will see the 300 staff, guests and supporters cycle 24,900 miles before Christmas Eve.

Mr Kyle has agreed to reward the staff member who raises the most sponsorship money by playing the role of their assistant for a day, while the staff member who cycles the most miles will also be rewarded with a full body massage in The Spa at Lochside.

Marketing manager Nikki Andrew said: “As a whole we are very aware of the challenge that is upon us, but we are even more aware of the work that Cash For Kids do and how the money we raise will be used to help children in the local community.”

Donations can be made to RAD Around The World via staff sponsor forms, in-hotel collection tins or online at www.justgiving.com/RADaroundtheworld.

RAD would like to thank the suppliers who have generously sponsored RAD Around The World - Brakes, Pollock Williams, Philip Mancini, SSUK, William Grant and Tenants.
