MOTHERWELL’S Our Lady’s High School have proved their up for a challenge after reaching the finals of a national competition.

A team of second-year pupils from the school won heat 7 of the Construction and the Built Environment Challenge West (CABEC West) held recently at Motherwell College.

They competed against schools from across the West of Scotland area and were set challenges such as constructing a PV solar powered irrigation system, planning the Riverside Museum, assembling a garden shed, tiling a replica roof and solving plumbing and electrical problems.

They were judged on teamwork, understanding, tidiness, time and accuracy by lecturing staff from various colleges and universities who help organise the contest including Motherwell College.

The Our Lady’s team will now compete in the final on January 24 at Hampden Park Stadium.
