TRADING Standards will be out in full force to ensure punters in pubs are getting the measures they have paid for.
The local branch of the organisation will be taking part in the Scotland-wide Fair Measure Fortnight campaign during August.
Officers from Trading Standards will check the accuracy of spirit, beer and wine measures sold in licensed premises across the North Lanarkshire Council area.
They will also be ensuring that licensees are not putting inferior spirits into premium branded bottles.
A similar campaign last year showed that over half of pub measures tested contained less than the stated amount.
This resulted in a number of licensees receiving formal written warnings, and one pub was reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
