A PREGNANT woman spoke of her embarrassment this week after being refused permission to use the toilet in a Bellshill cafe.

Sian Hutchison recently asked staff at the cafe in Bellshill Post Office if she could use the toilet and was advised that it was only for paying customers.

The 22-year-old, who was 35 weeks pregnant at the time, explained: “I was shopping in Bellshill Main Street and unfortunately had to go to the toilet.

“As you can imagine at this gestation, needing to urinate urgently is a regular occurrence.

“As I was passing the Post Office I went in and asked if I could possibly use their public toilet in the cafe.

“The cafe supervisor Marie Bradley informed me that under no circumstances could I use the toilets as they were for customer use only.”
