‘Walking with the Lord: one day at a time’ is the theme of a week-long mission which will take place in Motherwell Cathedral.
The preacher is Father Daniel Aigbona, a Nigerian Redemptorist priest who for the last five years has been stationed at the parish of the Holy Redeemer in Bangkok, Thailand.
Father Aigbona has wide experience as a pastor, lecturer in Philosophy and university chaplain in Nigeria.
He was director of the Redemptorist Mission and Retreat Team and has preached missions in the United States and Nigeria.
The theme of the mission – Walking with the Lord: one day at a time – seeks to help the members of the community to develop their faith in Jesus Christ and to put that faith into practice each day.
Father Aigbona will preach on the Eucharist, family life, growing in faith, reconciliation and forgiveness and Our Blessed Lady.
The mission begins on Saturday and runs until Saturday, June 16, with holy mass celebrated at 7am and 10am each morning.
There will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 7.30am-6.30pm from Monday to Thursday and from Monday to Friday there will be a one-hour Mission Service at 7pm lasting for about one hour.
Next Saturday mass, followed by blessing of the sick, will take place at 11am.
Confession will be available before and after each Mission Service and after morning masses. Everyone of any denomination, or none, are welcome.
