Three project ideas for Motherwell town centre have been shortlisted in the FutureTown Design Competition being run during Scotland’s Towns Week.

The ideas were developed from a week-long public consultation on the future of Motherwell, organised by Planning Aid Scotland, with North Lanarkshire Partnership, this summer.

They are: creating a performance space within the Merry Street precinct; redesigning the public space next to the health centre and shops on Windmillhill Street to provide a green space for activities and incorporating a green gym; and transforming the flat roof at Motherwell Shopping Centre/Brandon Court into a first floor garden, complete with flower and vegetable beds.
