POLICE searching for the body of missing Bellshill man Graeme Ferry were digging up waste ground near Carfin this week - as three men appeared in court charged with his murder.
The developments followed a five-month investigation into the disappearance of the 24-year-old landscape gardener.
Detectives are understood to have been given information at the weekend which led them to a site at Chapelknowe Road, between Carfin and Cleland, and close to the upmarket Dalziel Park housing estate.
They are concentrating on an area used as an illegal rubbish dump which is accessed by a dirt track leading from the road. Police vehicles and portable toilets could be seen at a rubble-strewn section on Tuesday morning.
