MEMBERS of Our Lady’s Light Opera Group are gearing up to celebrate its golden jubilee.

The local group first trod the boards with a production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘The Mikado’ in May 1962 and since then has produced over 70 shows ranging from light opera to West End favourites.

To celebrate reaching the milestone, the group will perform ‘Musical Gold - Past, Present, Future’ at Motherwell Theatre later this month.

It will feature a mix of musical numbers from classic shows such as ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ and ‘Kiss Me Kate’ as well as from more modern productions such as ‘Grease’ and ‘We Will Rock You’.

The show will run at the venue from May 23 to 26
