PEOPLE in Lanarkshire are being urged to join the NHS Organ Donor Register.
A new campaign has been launched to create awareness of the register and highlights that every day three people die in the UK waiting on a transplant.
Just 32 per cent of people living in the NHS Lanarkshire Health Board region have joined the register.
Dr Harpreet Kohli, NHS Lanarkshire’s director of public health and chairman of the board’s organ donation committee, said: “This campaign will help raise awareness of the issue and the hundreds of people waiting on a transplant to save their lives. ”
