Old trees to be cut down

NORTH Lanarkshire Council has started taking down trees that are over 100 years old in the Dalzell Estate in Motherwell - because they have reached the end of their natural life.

A concerned reader contacted the Times & Speaker worried that the local authority was taking unnecessary action by cutting down the trees.
