A presentation took place at the commencement of the Guild guest night in Bellshill Central Church following Ellen Williamson’s decision to resign from Bellshill Community Council after many years service.

The presentation was made by Councillor Harry Curran, with Tom Taylor, Duncan McLeod and the Rev Kevin De Beer also in attendance.

The guest night was attended by over 70 ladies from various Guilds who were well entertained by former radio DJ Dave Marshall.

Trips down memory lane were enthusiastically received from scrubbing boards to Triumph Herald, from Camp Coffee to Syrup of Figs, from Alma Cogan to Matt Munro, and entertainers Duncan MacRae to Chic Murray and so much more.

The 90 minute presentation flew by with lots of fun and laughter and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Since Dave has been fulfilling these engagements, almost £19,000 has been donated to Cystic Fibrosis and Alzheimer’s charities.

The evening concluded with friendship and fellowship over tea and coffee in the hall and the host Guild would like to thank everyone who went along.
