No suspicious circumstances in reserve river death

POLICE have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body at Motherwell’s Barons Haugh RSPB Reserve.

An area at the reserve was sealed off last Wednesday (March 13) morning after emergency services were alerted to the find of a female body in the river around 9.30am.

Following an investigation and post mortem, Strathclyde Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the woman, believed to be in her forties.

No further information on the woman was available as we went to press.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
