NHS awards are a chance to recognise healthcare heroes

If you know an inspirational NHS worker who has provided top class care locally, you’re not too late to nominate them for NHS Lanarkshire’s staff awards.

Over 250 nominations have already been received and the final day for submissions is on January 31.

The new awards will see staff from across Lanarkshire recognised for the inspirational work that they do.

Patients, visitors and staff can nominate staff and volunteers from across the organisation for the care or service that they provide.

Winners will be announced in a ceremony to be held on Wednesday, May 18.

Calum Campbell, chief executive, said: “We have a lot of hard working and dedicated staff throughout Lanarkshire, who provide an exceptional standard of care to patients on a daily basis.

“NHS staff are often present at some of the most challenging events in a person’s life and the care that they give in these times can make a lasting impression on a patient, their family and carers.

“We often hear from members of the public who are looking for a way to recognise staff who have given them a positive health care experience.

“The Staff Awards is an excellent opportunity for us all to appropriately acknowledge and recognise our dedicated staff and volunteers.”

The award categories are:

Outstanding individual

Outstanding team

Outstanding care

Outstanding volunteer

Innovation in practice

Service improvement
