Staff at The New McAlpine Bar in Newarthill raised over £1,000 for the Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation.
The venue held a fun day featuring inflatables, raffles, a tombola and a disco.
Motherwell’s X Factor star Nicholas McDonald also popped by to meet fans and lend his support.
The sum of £1,008 was raised, and the charity was delighted with the boost.
A spokesperson said: “This is a fantastic amount of money and will go to help children with a life threatening illness in Scotland.
“We cant thank owner Maureen McCool Smith and her staff enough for their support.”
Meanwhile, the foundation is appealing to Times & Speaker readers to take part in this year’s Kiltwalk fundraiser, to be held in Glasgow on April 24.
Dubbed ‘The Mighty Stride’, the 26-mile route starts at Hampden Park and finishes in Loch Lomond.
Less adventurous participants can choose to complete a 13-mile walk instead.
The foundation has promised that every £1 raised by volunteers will go straight into the foundation, helping children battling life-limiting illnesses.
