A BELLSHILL teenager became an unexpected Facebook hit this week after posting about a skatepark.
Corey Bell (16) called for a skatepark to be built in the town on the Times & Speaker’s page, and was stunned with the response.
In just a matter of days, Corey’s post received hundreds of ‘likes’ and comments as fellow Facebook users joined the debate.
As we went to press, the post had attracted almost 800 ‘likes’ and more than 130 comments, while countless others had read it.
Corey was spurred into action after being approached by police outside Aladdin’s Shopping Centre in Motherwell Road last Thursday.
Officers say they were called to the scene as youths were doing stunts on their bikes on the road.
However, Corey says, while he had his bike with him, he was simply taking shelter from the rain.
