Mossend and Holytown councillor Frank McNally visited Bellshill Academy in his role as North Lanarkshire Council’s Education Convener to mark the installation of new gym equipment at the school.

North Lanarkshire Council has made a substantial commitment of £523,000 to improving facilities at the school.

Councillor McNally said: “I was delighted to visit the school’s new gym now that the state-of-the-art equipment has been installed.

“The facility is already being well used by pupils and by staff and underlines our commitment to improving physical activity within our schools.

“The installation of the new gym equipment is part of a significant level of investment which has taken place in Bellshill Academy in recent months.

“From new science and art classes, to a new photo studio, dance studio, and the gym, areas of the school have been transformed for the better.”
