A NEW cashless payment scheme for buying lunch is being introduced at Dalziel High School in Motherwell and Taylor High School in New Stevenston.
Pupils normally use their national entitlement card to pay for their lunch but even if they don’t have this card with them, the new system will allow them to still use the service.
Pupils enter their pin number to access their personal account and add to the balance or pay for items.
This service is being rolled out to all secondary schools and will be up and running in Dalziel and Taylor by the end of March.
Pupils at Firpark Primary School in Motherwell are also now able to use the cashless payment scheme to pay for their school lunches after North Lanarkshire Council installed the system in January.
Firpark is also piloting the use of smart boards to assist with pupil food choices.
