COMMUTERS going to Ravenscraig can save themselves a bit of money thanks to a new free bus travelling to the area.

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) has joined forces with North Lanarkshire community transport group Shotts Getting Better Together to provide the dedicated £35,000 bus service over the next six months.

Funded by SPT, it is hoped that the introduction of a free bus service, which will operate Monday to Saturday, will see an increase of people using facilities in Ravenscraig.

The bus will serve Cleland, Coltness, Forgewood, Holytown, Newarthill, North Lodge and North Motherwell.
