THE PUBLIC will be able to view designs for environmental improvements to Muir Street and the approach to Motherwell rail station this week.
North Lanarkshire Council has developed proposals to extend the streetscape works in the town centre to a further section of Hamilton Road and Muir Street.
And the third phase of work includes repaving the footways in natural stone and installing new street lighting, seats and bins.
In Muir Street the road will be reduced to one lane, to create space for parking areas and service bays, while the footpath will be widened to improved access to shops and amenities for pedestrians.
The designs went on display yesterday (Wednesday) at Motherwell Heritage Centre and will remain there until Sunday.
