Two motions congratulating St Aidan’s High School on recent successes have been tabled in the Scottish Parliament.

Motherwell and Wishaw Labour MSP John Pentland tabled a motion congratulating the school on winning a national Prince’s Trust award for a cyber-bullying DVD.

He said: “That is an amazing achievement for the children in the XL club.”

He also tabled a second motion praising the school for organising a ‘question time’ session he attended along with political rivals Alex Neil (SNP) and Margaret Mitchell (Conservative).

Mr Pentland said: “There were forthright and frank contributions and while no punches were pulled in outlining differences it was a very good humoured event.”
