Motherwell and Wishaw MP Marion Fellows supported the UK charity Heart Valve Voice by attending a check-up event in Westminster.

Mrs Fellows had her heart checked by a cardiac specialist with a stethoscope, one of the simplest ways to check for heart valve disease, as Heart Valve Voice raises awareness of the need for improved diagnosis and treatment.

She said: “It was fascinating to learn more about heart valve disease, it affects a high proportion of the population, yet it’s worrying there are such low levels of awareness and concern across the country.

“I welcome the work of Heart Valve Voice in raising awareness and seeking to improve diagnosis and treatment of heart valve disease and will do everything I can to support their aims in Motherwell and Wishaw.”
