MOTORISTS are being urged to use alternative routes as more roadworks hit the area.
Uddingston’s Fallside Road will be closed for workers to repair a manhole at the junction with Old Edinburgh Road, south westwards for a distance of around 20m on Sunday.
Drivers travelling on the north east side of the closure wanting to access the south west side are advised they should travel south eastwards on Old Edinburgh Road, south westwards on Sanderson Avenue, north westwards on McCulloch Avenue then north eastwards on Fallside Avenue to reach their destination.
Carriage resurfacing is being carried out in Newarthill’s Glenmore Road until Sunday.
The work started on Wednesday from the south kerbline of Burnside Road to the junction of Glenburn Avenue.
Motorists on the north side of the closure wishing to access the south side should travel westwards on Burnside Road, south-westwards, southwards and eastwards on Glenburn Avenue and northwards on Glenmore Road.
Traffic on the other side of the closure wishing to access the north should travel vice versa.
Carriageway resurfacing is also being carried out in Motherwell at Crosshill Street and Park Street between Monday and Friday, August 22 to 26.
The road will be closed at Crosshill Street from its junction with Orbiston Street to its junction with Park Street and Park Street from its junction with Crosshill Street to around 82m south of the junction with Albert Street.
The alternative route encourages drivers on Crosshill Street on the south side of the closure wanting to access the north-westwards side to travel south-westwards on Crosshill, north west on Brandon Street/Menteith Road, north-eastwards on Merry Street, south-east on Wilson Street/Allan Street, south-westwards on Coursington Street/Albert Street and south-eastwards on Park Street.
Vehicles on Park Street on the north-east side of the closure wishing to access Crosshill Street should proceed vice-versa.
